Sexual Violence Services (SVS) Program

The Advocacy Resource Center's SVS Program provides comprehensive and culturally honoring sexual violence services that include the following:

  • Sexual Assault Nurse Examinations
  • SAFESTAR Sexual Assault Examinations
  • Advocacy
  • Cultural Healing Education and Support
  • Outreach

Sexual violence is a term that encompasses a wide range of unwanted sexual acts that includes but is not limited to:

  • Child sexual abuse
  • Rape
  • Incest
  • Exhibitionism
  • Voyeurism
  • Obscene phone calls or text messages
  • Fondling
  • Sexual harassment

Survivors of sexual violence may experience a variety of feelings:

  • Guilt
  • Shock
  • Embarassment
  • Anger
  • Depressed or hopeless
  • Changes in eating or sleeping
  • Nightmares or flashbacks
  • Fear

Whatever the sexual violence survivors reactions or fears may be, support and help is available regardless of whether the violence is reported to law enforcement.
