Legal Aid Services

The Advocacy Resource Center's Legal Aid program Program is available to assist survivors with civil legal issues that are a direct result of victimization.  Access to legal representation in civil matters is proven to increase survivor safety and decrease repeated trauma and victimization.

The Lega Aid Program may provide assistance for; although, is not limited to the following: 

FAMILY LAW MATTERS:

  • Divorce
  • Custody
  • Visitation
  • Child or Spousal Support

HOUSING MATTERS:

  • Ending a lease
  • Removing an offender from lease
  • Defending from eviction

ECONOMIC SECURITY ISSUES:

  • Disability denials
  • Public benefits, such as food stamps, housing assistance, and social security

OTHER:

  • Personal Protection Orders (PPO)
  • Sealing, expungement, or dismissal of survivor criminal records
  • Other services deemed appropriate or necessary
